Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Concept
Corporate Social Responsibility is strongly connected with the principles of Sustainability. An organization should make decisions not only based on financial and commercial factors, but also give back to society in which it operates and strengthen the community and environment around it.
TCG Lifesciences Private Limited (TCGLS), believes that in alignment with its vision and CSR initiatives it will continue to promote social and environmental sustainability. The objectives will be specially geared for the benefit of underprivileged and deprived sections of society. Through such meaningful projects and activities, it will also enhance the inherent value of the organization. TCGLS carries out its CSR activities through TCG Foundation, a registered Trust and participates actively in the project monitoring process.
List Of Activities / Projects
TCGLS shall FOLLOW THE ACTIVITIES / PROJECTS MENTIONED WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON PROMOTING EDUCATION , HEALTHCARE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY.
- Eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting preventive health care and sanitation and making available safe drinking water
- Promoting education, including special education and employment enhancing vocation skills especially among children, women, elderly and the differently abled and livelihood enhancement projects;
- Promoting gender equality, empowering women, setting up homes and hostels for women and orphans, setting up old age homes, day care centres and such other facilities for senior citizens and measures for reducing inequalities faced by socially and economically backward groups;
- Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water;
- Protection of national heritage, art and culture including restoration of buildings and sites of historical importance and works of art; setting up public libraries;
- Promotion and development of traditional arts and handicrafts;
- Measures for the benefit of armed forces veterans, war widows and their dependents;
- Training to promote rural sports, nationally recognised sports, Paralympics and Olympic sports;
- Contribution to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund or any other fund set up by the central government for socio-economic development and relief and welfare of the scheduled castes, the scheduled tribes, other backward classes, minorities and women;
- Contribution or funds provided to technology incubators located within academic institution which are approved by the Central Government;
- Rural development projects;
- Any other activities in relation of the above and all other activities which forms part of CSR as per Schedule VII of the Act, 2013 (the “Act”) as amended from time to time. (Collectively hereinafter referred to as “CSR Activities”)
TCG Lifesciences supported CSR Project of FY 2024-25 with a school named Santiniketan Sishutirtha, Santiniketan, Dist : Birbhum, West Bengal. (Educational Project)
TCG Lifesciences supported a project to build a network of trained Eco Guardians promoting sustainable living, ecological balance, and conservation. It built awareness among students, teachers, and Panchayat members, directly benefiting 180 participants and indirectly reaching ~1,200 people.
TCG Lifesciences supports an educational project for this school every year. Future Hope India nurtures and educates homeless street children, underprivileged slum children through school education and higher education. They provide all-round education to establish students as self-reliant, responsible citizens.
TCG Lifesciences supports operational expenses for Bhanuben Pravin Shah Junior College, Tara, managed by the Yusuf Meherally Centre, for FY 2025–26, enabling Arts education for underprivileged Classes XI–XII by covering staff salaries and administrative, social, cultural, and other costs.
TCG Lifesciences supports operational expenses for Apta Junior College, managed by the Yusuf Meherally Centre, for FY 2025–26, benefiting 78 students, 9 teaching and 3 non-teaching staff (100% minority). It sustains Commerce education for Classes XI–XII by covering salaries and related costs.
TCG Lifesciences arranged an initiative towards promoting computer literacy for the children of Samparc, a Kolkata based NGO.
TCG Lifesciences and TCG Foundation support mobilizing oxygen concentrators and medical supplies to affected persons via a local hospital reaching rural communities, and provide US donations through the Johns Hopkins India Institute to centers across India.
TCG Lifesciences provides Oxygen Concentrators to Liver Foundation, West Bengal for the treatment of Covid-19 affected patients
Distribution of N 95 masks by TCG Lifesciences Hyderabad team at Anantharam village in Hyderabad
TCG Lifesciences supported the contribution of Blood Counting Machine for a healthcare project in collaboration with Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Kolkata.
TCG Lifesciences supported construction of dormitory hostel for 20 disadvantaged students in Bankura District in collaboration with Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission.
TCG Lifesciences supported setting up a 10 KWP Solar Power Plant for Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, Kolkata.
TCG Lifesciences supported construction of Junior College classrooms on the first floor in Village Apta, Dist. Raigad, Maharashtra, in collaboration with Yusuf Meherally Centre.
